The Tirot consists of a wooden hull with keel and 2 sails attached to a central mast. It is the signature yacht of the Maison TIROT, a symbol of its naval expertise for decades. Made entirely from beech wood, this boat embodies the company's excellence in craftsmanship. The eyelets built into the hull, reminiscent of portholes, are a subtle tribute to the town of Fougères, famous for its historic shoe-making industry, now renowned for its fine craftsmanship in leather goods.
Fitted with a Bermudan rig with a jib on a bowsprit mast, ‘Le Tirot’ ensures smooth, agile sailing. Its wooden keel and steel ballast guarantee exceptional stability on the water, providing a seamless sailing experience. The cleats on deck allow easy sail trimming, enabling precise sailing in all weather conditions, whether on a dock or at sea.
This is a truly versatile yacht, appealing to young and old alike. It can be used as a toy, or as a decorative or collector's item. In fact, this model comes with a practical wooden stand. This stand is ideal for storage or display when the toy is not in use. It's a stylish way to display the boat, whether in a child's bedroom, on a shelf or as the centrepiece of a nautical décor.
With its generous 40 cm dimensions, this sailboat is specially designed to sail on any body of water, whether in a swimming pool, a pond or even at sea. You can choose between two colours: blue and red.
To preserve its beauty and longevity, we recommend that you leave your boat to dry in the shade away from excessive heat after each use. After each swim in the sea, we recommend rinsing with clean water to prevent the salt from corroding the toy.
Maison TIROT has been making wooden sailing boats for 75 years in Romagné, Brittany. Founded in 1946 by Francis Tirot, a cabinetmaker with a passion for wood, the company perpetuates a unique know-how. Each piece is made by hand in the Romagné workshops, with passion and meticulous care by skilled craftsmen who have mastered the age-old techniques of joinery and painting, guaranteeing the quality and durability of the toys. In 2012, Maison Tirot was awarded the ‘Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant’ (Living Heritage Company) label, a distinction that highlights French companies with excellent craftsmanship and industrial know-how.
