Story of Maison Tirot

HISTOIRES FRANCAISE is delighted to present the MAISON TIROT

A house of tradition

Founded in 1946 by Francis Tirot, a passionate wood craftsman, Maison Tirot has been rooted in Romagné, Brittany, ever since. For over 75 years, it has perpetuated its unique craftsmanship, designing and building wooden boats and sailboats for young and old alike. It was during the first paid vacations that Francis Tirot had the idea of creating a wooden toy for children: a miniature sailing boat.

Breizh know-how: four generations of enthusiasts

For four generations, the Tirot family has perpetuated this unique know-how, designing and manufacturing wooden sailing boats that delight young and old alike. In 2021, Augustin took over the business, guided by the invaluable advice and experience of Nicolas Tirot. He thus fervently perpetuates tradition, while adding his own personal touch. Each piece is handcrafted in the Romagné workshops, with passion and attention to detail. Skilled craftsmen master the age-old techniques of carpentry and painting, guaranteeing the quality and durability of our toys.

Timeless toys
True toys for children, Maison Tirot boats meet the strictest French and European safety standards. They meet European safety standards EN 71 1.2.3, attesting to their compliance with maximum safety requirements. They are designed to last and accompany children on their imaginary adventures for many years to come. What's more, their exceptional quality makes them objects that can be enjoyed not only by children, but also by grown-ups, as decorative pieces or collectors' items.

Beechwood: a sustainable choice
Maison Tirot favors short circuits for the manufacture of its boats, carefully choosing beech wood from the surrounding forests of Brittany. These boats, made from a noble, durable wood, are designed to withstand all the elements and be handed down from generation to generation. They perfectly embody the values of craftsmanship and transmission that are at the heart of Maison Tirot's identity.
