STORY OF MARINE PRUD'HON
Marine PRUD'HON is a creator at heart with a very personal and powerful universe.
As a young woman with an endearing personality, we discovered her when she participated in an auction organized for the benefit of the AP-HP during the first confinement, witness of her generosity.
The immediate love at first sight for her work led us to propose her to work for us with unique hand-painted works, inspired by the carpets she creates in her publishing house.
Marine PRUD'HON's 100% French and eco-responsible creations have naturally found their place in the HISTOIRES FRANCAISES collections.
This is why today we wanted to allow you to get to know her better.
HER BACKGROUND
Marine comes from a family of artists and naturally declares that "exercerting a creative profession is part of my DNA. Creating makes me happy, I couldn't imagine doing it any other way". She then studied visual arts at the Penninghen School and completed her training at the Institut Français de la Mode where she developed a passion for colours and patterns.
Vincent Darré was her mentor and allowed her to work on numerous projects in France and abroad. She says that he taught her "adaptability and rejection of conventions".
HER ART
Marine "likes to paint with gouache for its matte finish and the intensity of its colours. The rendering has something frank, full, direct." She explains being "at the service of drawing and envy and that "conceived as a collage, my creative process begins by hand by superimposing primary forms".
HER INSPIRATIONS
Passionate about art history, Marine confesses that "from Cubism to Art Deco through modern art, I am touched by the fundamental, simple forms that surround us". Married to a French-Japanese man, Marine travels every year to the land of the rising sun and finds each trip an incredible source of wonder.
One of the figures who inspire her most is Catherine DENEUVE "my eternal Peau d'Âne, free woman and so Parisian".
