Story of BAZAR ATELIER SABLON
HISTOIRES FRANÇAISES is proud to present BAZAR ATELIER SABLON, a promising young French brand of eco-responsible tote bags and accessories, which skilfully mixes vintage and modern!
From attic to shopping bag: the birth of BAZAR ATELIER SABLON
It all began in the attic... In early 2020, Hortense went on an expedition to her grandmother's attic and discovered a sewing machine. She took the plunge and learned, all by herself, but with obvious aptitude. It wasn't long before she was creating her first tote bag from scraps of the famous Toile de Jouy, which turned out to be quite a success! Then it all clicked, and she took up the challenge: inspired by our beautiful heritage, to create and manufacture in France a line of modern accessories, using raw materials selected as close as possible to the source. BAZAR ATELIER SABLON was born!
Toile de Jouy is a traditional cotton fabric, created in 1760 in Jouy-en-Josas (Yvelines), whose typical design depicts characters in a natural setting, in monochrome on a light background.
BAZAR ATELIER SABLON, an ethically committed French brand
From her Paris workshop, Hortense designs all her models and makes prototypes, drawing her creative inspiration from the finest traditional fabrics. The BAZAR ATELIER SABLON brand is then committed to sourcing its products only from short circuits, in order to respect its eco-responsible commitment.
Then the golden fingers of a few fairy seamstresses come into play, from their regional workshops, to make magnificent limited edition tote bags, clutches and other accessories. With few stocks and little waste, these original made-in-France creations are ethical right down to their handles!
Toile de Jouy by BAZAR ATELIER SABLON
While Hortense has fallen in love with traditional designs like Toile de Jouy, she makes no concessions when it comes to the modernity and freshness of her creations. Vintage, yes, but adapted to today's tastes and our nomadic lives!
That's why BAZAR ATELIER SABLON's signature tote bag is called Jouy de Fruits. An essential urban bag, ideally sized to be worn on the shoulder or wrist, it has those little details that make all the difference: a solid 100% cotton lining, an elegant visible label and a small inside pocket for your keys. HISTOIRES FRANCAISES has chosen three colors: a bright Orange & Fushia, a deep Bleu Roy, and an elegant velvety Mocha shade. Practical and so beautiful, this it-bag has already won over a community of Fruits de Jouy lovers, so what are you waiting for?
And for your little "mess", BAZAR ATELIER SABLON toiletry bags are just perfect. Designed to easily hold toothbrushes, make-up and everything else you need to look your best at the weekend, they're lined and made with fabric scraps from tote bags! Quality, aesthetics and eco-responsibility right down to the last notch of the zipper... HISTOIRES FRANCAISES suggests the Jouy de Fruits Bleu toiletry bag and the Jouy de Fruits Taupe toiletry bag, in reverse color mode.
BAZAR ATELIER SABLON, star of the French Riviera
Among France's iconic summer spots, the Côte d'Azur is undoubtedly on everyone's mind! Inspired by the beauty of the water's reflections, BAZAR ATELIER SABLON has created the pretty French Riviera collection. With the same assets as their big brothers in Toile de Jouy, these two tote bags in magnificent aquatic hues, Émeraude and Azur, will accompany you all summer long, from the office to the pool, from the market to the wooded park, from the pontoon to the sand dune... Not forgetting the matching French Riviera Émeraude and Azur bags, to ensure a coordinated look without fail, so chic!
HISTOIRES FRANCAISES loves the modern, vintage chic style of BAZAR ATELIER SABLON, and supports its definitively eco-responsible commitment to bringing our heritage treasures up to date, while supporting local French craftsmanship. How do you transport your bazaar?
